The Standard in Pilates Education Power Pilates education programs are recognized as the best in the country and are offered worldwide. We are committed to teaching the classical technique of Joseph Pilates with innovation and integrity. Our certification programs provide a unique and profound experience and have been called the "Harvard of Pilates education." You will develop a deep understanding of Pilates and how to teach it. Power Pilates also offers the most extensive continuing education courses world-wide. Click on the links at the left for more information about the Beginner Mat and Systems I apparatus programs. |
Keep the Integrity of the Method Alive In 1997 Power Pilates established the Certification Programs in New York City to preserve and teach the classical technique of Joseph Pilates. The demand for quality instructors led to an international network of affiliate training centers, all of which meet Power Pilates high standards of education and commitment to excellence. We have certified over 2000 instructors worldwide. During our unique programs, you will learn the exercises and principles created by Joseph Pilates through a classical-systematic-integrative approach. Classical or "authentic" pertains to the exercises being taught and the vocabulary used to teach them. Systematic relates to the progression and sequence of a session. Integrative refers to the inclusion of all the apparatus within a session. In addition to learning the exercises, you will develop a deep understanding of Pilates. You will also learn the specifics of a balanced workout, develop the ability to recognize proper body mechanics, and will be trained in the methods necessary to work with special case clients (i.e. those with back, neck, knee, shoulder problems). Our students learn how to teach, what to teach, and why it is important. We call this the "art of teaching."
